Snow tires are specifically designed to deal with our Canadian winters and all the ice, snow & salt that is on the road.

Snow tires are designed with softer & more durable rubber compounds that help your vehicle grip the road during very cold weather. They also have also have a silica compound in them that helps the tire melt the snow and ice as it goes along, as well as added groove capacity to help get rid of any excess snow. Regular all-season tires just can't compare.

Installing snow tires can mean the difference in getting your vehicle and your family home safely during bad weather.

This year, we are pleased to provide you with 3 levels of winter tire protection: (1) Toyo tires are our recommended tire-of-choice because of their extremely high winter performance, high quality manufacture, excellent durability and sensible price; (2) Blizzak tires offers premium winter driving characteristics but are more expensive and may not have the longevity you require, and; (3) Winterforce tires offer a significant savings over many other tire options and are an economical choice that will cover your basic winter needs.

Improved Traction and Tread

The TOYO OBSERVE G-02 plus is designed to deliver a secure winter ride with added comfort in the worst of Canadian winter conditions. TOYO has seriously improved traction through technology. New tread design, new tread compound and a wider footprint give the OBSERVE G-02 plus increased winter performance. Serious Tread Compound: Lamella crystals help “vacuum” away moisture from under the tread allowing better direct contact between the tire and road surface.

Improved Microbit Technology increases traction and braking on ice and compacted snow.

Silica in the tread compSound helps improve wet traction, allows the rubber to retain its softness in low temperature conditions and resists hardening with age.

Serious Tread Design

Increased side density further improves water evacuation resulting in improved levels of ice traction. Larger wave sipes also increase lateral traction on ice and other slippery surfaces. Full depth tread design increases safety and traction throughout the life of the tire. Saw tooth tread block shapes result in an increased edge effect, giving improved braking and acceleration in snow. Contact area of OBSERVE G-02 plus is increased by 25% for better dry & wet handling, ice braking and tread life.

Toyo's start with 13/32 inch tread depth, most other manufacturers come with 11/32 tread depth. 12% more tread equals much greater tire longevity

Serious Comfort

Optimization of the tread pattern arrangement in the OBSERVE G-02 plus by shifting tread blocks 1/2 pitch results in a reduction of pattern noise levels adding to driving comfort. The twin shoulder design has been developed to improve dry road stability at highway speeds.

The Bridgestone® Blizzak™ ice and snow tire is truly unique, thanks to its patented Multicell® tread compound, available only in the Blizzak.

Multicell Compound

The Multicell® compound contains thousands of microscopic cells, or pores, which resemble Swiss cheese when examined through a microscope.  As the Blizzak wears, the pores are exposed and create thousands of biting edges that grip the road.

In addition to the biting action, the pores help remove the thin layer of surface water, which often develops on top of icy roads, allowing the biting edges to adhere to the surface with less interference. The result is greater driving and braking force on ice-and snow-covered surfaces.

The pores are distributed throughout the Multicell® compound so as the tire wears, new pores are constantly being exposed along the tire tread surface.

Steel Wheels

We recommend steel rims to complement your winter tires because it will save money in the long run. To mount and balance four tires is $87.00. This price is included in the tire and rim package. Simply purchasing winter tires without rims will result in mounting and balancing charges twice a year. Toyota Original Equipment rims are priced compatibly and after two seasons will pay for themselves in the money and time you will save.

Winter Wheel Nuts

Using closed ended winter wheel nuts will greatly reduce the chance of the wheel bolts rusting. The tapered edge will allow the nut to fit against the steel rim properly to insure a correct fit. Using alloy wheel nuts on steel rims will not fit correctly and will rust the washer. When this occurs the expensive alloy wheel nuts will require replacement.
